Reading
by Monica Hillman
Once upon a time there was a little girl named Dawn. She went upstairs to read a book. When Dawn went upstairs she saw a beautiful room full of books on the floor. So then she picked up one of the books and started to read. Dawn wanted to read the books so badly, but she remembered that she could not read. The book heard Dawn talking and the book said,
"I'll read to you, Dawn. You just listen to me."
So Dawn listened and the book read to her. She was so excited about the story she just could not keep the book down. One day she went upsairs again and the book wouldn't read to her again. The book said to Dawn
"You read to me now, Dawn."
"I can't read!" said Dawn
The book said "Yes you can. Just open your mouth and read to me."
And Dawn did and read and read and read.
